Boston Marathon Bombing Suspects Update, 1 Dead, Manhunt for 1

4-19-2013 – One suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed by authorities; however, the other suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, is still at large. According to authorities, the pair were brothers with roots near Chechnya.

All day Friday the authorities urged the Boston community to stay indoors because Tsarnaev may be armed with explosives, possibly a vest outfitted with devices.

M.I.T. Police Officer Shot and Killed on Campus

(4-19-2013) – A campus police officer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) was shot and killed on the Cambridge campus on Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. M.I.T. posted a message about the incident on the university’s Twitter feed. The Boston Herald reports that “Cambridge police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office says the male officer was responding to a report of a disturbance when he was shot multiple times.”

According to police, no suspect has been arrested.
